Xi Hu at Night!

Before yesterday night I thought there was something wrong with my uncle because he never really talked to me and he always seemed to be upset about something. He also sometimes didn't come back home for two days and so I had no idea what was up with him; my sister later told me it's because of his job that he has to stay overnight. After he had dinner yesterday night, he asked if my sister and I wanted to go to Xi Hu (West Lake). We went there, and he was NOTHING like I thought he was. We ended up riding on a boat in Xihu, went driving up a mountain filled with tea gardens, and then went to have an evening snack. The boat ride was amazinggg. Even though it wasn't an actual visitor boat, but a boat that workers use to gather leaves that fall into the lake, it was beautiful. The scenery was really nice, and I wish that my iphone captured what my eyes could actually see. There were no other boats on the lake, just us, and so it was purely water passing by us. The boat had no roof, but was somewhat similar to a canoe. We went right after it rained, so it was pretty cool. I felt both warm and cool air while riding on the boat. My uncle asked the main driving the boat if he could pick a lotus flower and a lily, and he didn't mind. Usually, they are out of reach and you wouldn't be allowed to take one, but since it was during the night, no one could see. The driver was also lenient on what we wanted to do during that time. When we drove through the mountain next to the lake afterwards, we all rolled down our windows and felt the wind passing by. It was about 80 degrees F while we were there. My sister really wanted to eat somewhere, so we went to a restaurant where they grill food.

Do you know how much this tiny cup of froyo was? 20 元. I think that's pretty expensive for yogurt in China. I went to a bakery with two of my classmates, and one said that the frozen yogurt was cheap here, so I wanted some. It's actually REALLY expensive. I was guessing it's 5-10 元, but no, it's 20!!!!!! I can get a shirt if I had 15 more yuan with that 20. I know when you convert 20 it's actually only a bit more than $3, but with a little more than $3 I can get a pretty good amount of yummy iplain tart yogurt with toppings on it in Yogurtland back in LA.
